Meimarakis: Now Tsipras has his own ‘Lagarde list’

Tsipras is poisoning the political life of Greece

Newsroom September 16 04:48

Evangelos Meimarakis main opposition leader of conservative New Democracy party stated in an interview that left party SYRIZA leader, and former Greek PM Alexis Tsipras now had his own ‘Lagarde list’ (a Greek rendition of the ‘Falciani list’, which included names of high profile HSBC clients who allegedly used the bank to evade taxes and launder money), referring to the revelations that heavyweight SYRIZA MP Alekos Flambouraris was involved in a company that allegedly won a public tender while he was minister.  Speaking to Newsit site, Meimarakis responded on the alleged involvement of Flambouraris saying that even though he wanted to avoid poisoning the pre-election campaign, he said it was a matter that was in the public interest. Referring to Tsipras Meimarakis said: “He (Tsipras) cannot create posters with the Lagarde list, when he is not in it”. Meimarakis accused Tsipras of having completely ‘mutated’ and poisoning the political life of Greece. “It does not fit with the ‘left’ morals and nor with the image of Tsipras I had in mind”, said Meimarakis.
