Tourist Junior – A travelling suitcase

An innovative experiential educational program for children

Newsroom September 25 11:19
An innovative experiential educational program for children awaits you during the “Researchers’ Night” at the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Center (254 Piraeus Str.), on Friday 29th of September, from 17:00 (free admission).

It’s about an Event / Petition to celebrate “2017 as a Year of Sustainable Tourism for Growth”. Following the “art-expression-creation→tourism” scheme, we aim to reinforce active participation to participants, mainly of primary and secondary school, active citizenship and tourism consciousness, acting on the basis of the principles of sustainable development (UNESCO) and the values of the European Union.

Purpose: to shape future responsible citizens who will protect and highlight our country (host country of tourists), contributing decisively to responsible and creative tourism. This is done through experiential workshops based on works of art / artists, appropriate teaching and modern audiovisual material, but mainly through experiential educational methodology and practice.

The most important, however, is the “creative, playful and cooperative character” that has been given to the project, thus in a meaningful and understandable way to perceive concepts very important for travel, such as: environment, culture, gastronomy, entertainment, history, society, economy, work, activism, but also to promote peace, cooperation, innovation and creativity.

Organisation:
Dr. Eleftheria M. Gkrimpa, Creator / Voluntary Educator of the Project (IKY Scholar)
