ND leader Kyriakos Mistotakis reiterates he will not back Prespa Agreement

Mr Mitsotakis meets with German Foreign Minister Haas in Athens

Newsroom September 20 06:44

The President of Greece’s major opposition party, New Democracy (ND), Kyriakos Mitsotakis reiterated his position that his party would not back the Prespa Agreement on the name dispute with FYROM when it came to the parliament. During his meeting with the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, who is on an official visit to Greece, Mr Mitsotakis
re-emphasised the triptych name-language-ethnicity and presented to Mr. Maas his disagreements with the agreement, as he outlined in a post on twitter.

The two men discussed the developments in the eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans, as well as current political developments in Europe and Greece. According to sources in New Democracy, Mr. Mitsotakis presented to Mr. Maas his reform plan as he laid it out at the Thessaloniki Trade Fair.
