Greek PM Alexis Tsipras personally attacked the leader of New Democracy (ND), Kyriakos Mitsotakis over his rebuking of the President of the body, Nikos Voutsis earlier.
Mr Tsipras said Mr Mitsotakis’s behaviour was ιnsolent when he told an elected member of Parliament to leave the chamber. “Mr Mitsotakis you are irritated, I am calm, you have been very irritant lately”. Mr Tsipras said.

“You may have found everything laid out for you, and speak like a spoiled college boy who inherited from his father, but you are not a landlord here, this is the parliament of the Greeks, the temple of Democracy”, he said.

We are voting against the budget, not just the separate forecasts but overall your government. We are voting against the government that made the lives of Greeks worse,” said the President of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his address in Parliament during the debate on the budget.
Mr Mitsotakis blasted Greek PM Alexis Tsipras from the podium dubbing his coalition government that of the unacceptable national retreats and of the scandals and conflict of interest. “We are not the only ones voting against you, but the vast majority of the Greeks”, Mitsotakis said. The leader of the opposition party claimed the terrorist attack against SKAI TV was a result of SYRIZA’s longterm strategy for many years to escalate tensions.

The debate in the Greek parliament on the 2019 budget is underway, with the discussion expected to culminate after 7 pm when Greek PM Alexis Tsipras and opposition leader of New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis are scheduled to take the podium and deliver their speeches.

The PM is expected to repeat the narrative of the Greek government’s “success story” by focusing on the exit of the country from the memorandums while referring to the distribution bonuses and the social dividend his administration has promised for the less fortunate.
