A disturbing video of an Islamic religious cleric brutally abusing a student has been doing the rounds on the Internet sparking outrage among the netizens.

The unsettling footage shows a cleric slapping, punching and kicking as other student surrounding the two recite verses from the Quran. The video also shows the scholar using a stick to thrash the young boy and throwing him to the ground.
Muslim scholars have come under fire for employing highly abusive and violent practices against young boys in Islamic schools known as Madrassas.
