These are the new 113 patrol cars of the Greek Police (photos)

The vehicles will be deployed in Attica and Thessaloniki

The Hellenic Police force has added 113 new patrol cars to its fleet after the vehicles were formally received by the Citizen Protection Ministry.

The addition of the new French patrols cars is expected to significantly raise the capabilities of law enforcement in their efforts to fight crime, especially during the holiday season. The cars will be put into action immediately and cover pressing needs in Attica and Thessaloniki.

The new vehicles were received at the premises of the Hellenic Police in Markopoulo, in the presence of the General Secretary of Public Order, Konstantinos Tsouvalas, and the Chief of the Hellenic Police, Lieutenant General Michael Karamalakis. The purchase cost of the patrol cars was covered by the European Internal Security Fund.

They are second-generation Peugeot 308 in the hatchback version, which is based on the EMP2 platform and are available in a wide range of petrol and diesel engines, PureTech and BlueHDi technology respectively.

The Minister of Citizen Protection Takis Theodorikakos welcomed the consignment of the French cars stating “They will help our police officers do their job even better.”
