The operation to free the Greek Consul General in Mariupol, Manolis Androulakis, as well as the on-site staff of the OSCE Mission, together with their family members, has begun, according to diplomatic sources.

The operation takes place in close coordination with the OSCE.

They are expected to move in a westerly direction, probably to the area of Zaporizhia.

For security reasons it is not possible to provide details of the operation.
