On the morning of Wednesday, April 13, 2022, the Metropolitan of Sweden and all of Scandinavia, Cleopas, received at his seat in Stockholm, the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Sweden, His Excellency Mr. Solonas Savvas.
The Archbishop welcomed the visitor with great pleasure, guided him to the Cathedral of Agios Georgios, informed him about the restoration works being carried out there, and sat down for a talk at the Museum of Greek Christian Heritage.
There, he congratulated him on taking up his new duties, wished him success in his work, and conveyed to him the paternal wishes of His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Mr. Bartholomew.
He then informed him of the extent and the countries included in the Holy Diocese as an Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, of all the work, carried out in each of them, while he did not fail to mention his good cooperation with Mr. Savvas’s predecessors. but also the other Ambassadors of Cyprus throughout Scandinavia.
Afterward, the Ambassador thanked His Excellency for the reception and information and asked for his prayerful support in his new multifaceted duties, while both sides exchanged wishes for the coming days of Holy Week and Easter.
Metropolitan Cleopas offered to Mr. Savvas the recent editions of the Holy Metropolis of Sweden, a noble offer of the Apostolic Ministry of the Church of Greece, and Swedish Easter sweets.
