A horrific accident occurred in Mexico, when a small boat carrying tourists was hit hard by a whale, causing it to rise in the air.

The video released by the authorities in Mexico shows the moment of the violent collision.

Three passengers were slightly injured, while two others were taken to hospital.

Authorities say another passenger was taken by navy personnel to a clinic.

The civil protection spokesman said the boat’s pilots may not have known the whale was under water at that point.

“The whale came to the surface of the water and lifted the boat into the air”, he said.
