Akon causes uproar during concert in Africa

The sealed plastic ball caused a series of negative comments

Newsroom October 3 09:43

R&B icon and star Akon received a barrage of comments on his provocative appearance during his last concert in the capital of Congo, Goma, where he was “sealed” inside an air-tight inflatable transparent ball, similar to those one can find in amusement parks, so that he does not contract Ebola.

The famous singed, who is widely admired in sub-Saharan countries had programmed a series of concerts before the Ebola virus spread. He tried to cancel them, but that would cost him both in huge amounts of money due to ticket returns and payments to organizers.

Thus, he was forced to adhere to the program, staying in Africa. His phobia for the virus, however has forced him to take no steps outside his hotel without his “transparent plastic ball” providing him an air-tight protection. This enraged his admirers who rushed to blame him for disrespecting them as well as the thousands of people exposed to the virus daily, and those that have perished because of it.

However, the singer’s PR department did not leave the blame-game unanswered. They responded that Akon had appeared in the inflatable, air-tight ball in Australia and Dubai in 2010, without having had the fear of Ebola.
