Motion of no confidence: Voted against by 156 votes to 143

299 MPs voted - Andreas Patsis was absent

Newsroom January 27 04:13

SYRIZA’s no-confidence motion against the government was rejected with 156 votes against and 143 in favor. A total of 299 MPs voted, while the independent MP, Christos Patsis, was absent.

The no-confidence debate lasted 34 hours, one of the longest, as informed by the Speaker of the House, that have been held on no-confidence motions.

The debate concluded with the statement of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis who focused on the comparison of the actions of the N.D. and SYRIZA governments.

“Democracy will be protected with the victory of the ND” he said and accused the president of the main opposition for unprecedented insults against him.
