The TUI awards for the best hotels in the world – The Greek hotels that stood out

At the TUI Global Hotel Awards 2023, special emphasis was placed on sustainability

The TUI Lifetime Achievement award was given to the founder and owner of Grecotel Hotels and Resorts, Nikos Daskalantonakis a distinction that honours people or organisations with an incalculable contribution to the tourism industry.

As TUI points out, Mr. Daskalantonakis is known for his commitment to creating personalised, unique cultural experiences for guests, offering them warmth and a genuine connection with the local community.

In terms of hotel developments, Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel & Suites was awarded the best hotel in the world and the best hotel in Eastern Europe by TUI.

The annual TUI Global Hotel Awards ceremony was held in Berlin, and more than 300 hotel partners and TUI employees gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the top 100 hotels in the company’s portfolio. Within 12 categories, selected from a pool of more than 13,000 hotels in 180 destinations, 9 hotels have been recognised as the best of the best, according to TUI guest reviews.

The annual TUI World Hotel Award winners are based on feedback from more than 16 million TUI guests in 2022. This includes everything from service to food, facilities, and overall experience.
