Cyprus: Bomb hoax in many schools – See the threatening message they received

It was sent from an email with an IP address abroad and likely originated from an automatic translation of text into English

Newsroom May 17 01:04

A bomb threat message was sent today to many schools across Cyprus, causing disruption but not significant concern, as it was understood that it wasn’t true.

Specifically, the threatening message, which had the same content, was sent via email to numerous schools, including kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, and high schools throughout Cyprus.

Investigations revealed that the bomb threat email was sent from an IP address abroad.

The text was identical and likely originated from an automatic translation of a message from English.

The message said:

THERE IS A BOMB IN THE SCHOOL

We always waited for the day we will be able to walk to go to the city and not hide our faces.
There will be a day when the images in our heads will become the destructive power of reality that you will feel inside these walls.
The blood of the teachers will be spilled inside the schools.
We will cut their throat.
The enemies of Allah will lie about our actions.
Sharia does not divide the faithful to warriors and peaceful ones.
He said: “Oh, messenger of Allah our horses will run over the women and children of the pagans”. He said: “It is of their fathers”.
Children and women will be killed only if they get in our way.

We will destroy you in the streets.
Our trucks are full of explosives.
We will destroy you in the central squares like in Nice.
We will cut the crowds with knives.
They will break on you and they will explode.

We will drown you in blood.

Many schools, after communicating with the Police and the Ministry of Education, sent reassuring messages to the parents of the students, informing them that the schools are in contact with the authorities and that there is no cause for concern.

In some other schools, parents received a message stating that, following instructions from the Police and the Ministry, the children are remaining in the school yard until further notice.

In Paphos, bomb disposal experts conducted checks on all the schools without finding anything.
