Kyriakos Mitsotakis from Agrinio: Let’s secure a three-pointer in the European elections and repeat the 2023 victory

We will not fall for false and populist proposals - Legitimacy is key and we will not cover up any tax officials

Newsroom May 25 02:58

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Agrinio on Saturday afternoon as part of his tour across Greece ahead of the European elections on June 9, sending a message of unity to achieve, as he said, the electoral three-pointer following New Democracy’s victories in the national elections of May and June 2023.

The Prime Minister, in light of the debate in Parliament on Friday regarding accuracy, criticized the opposition, saying, “You can’t come and say that the answer to the problem of accuracy is to reduce VAT and give a 13th and 14th salary; we’ve heard it before. We will not fall for the false and populist proposals of some who lie to you looking you in the eye. We will not deceive you like some others.”

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Agrinio, kicking off his tour across Greece ahead of the June 9 European elections. He urged unity to secure a three-pointer victory after New Democracy’s successes in May and June 2023. Mr. Mitsotakis emphasized the importance of Greece’s voice in Brussels, citing achievements like the Recovery Fund.

The PM called for stability and continuity in domestic politics, criticizing opposition promises of reducing VAT and providing extra salaries. Mitsotakis stressed the need for legality and intolerance towards illegalities. He urged cooperation to combat apathy and secure victory in the upcoming elections. The visit began with discussions on regional issues and projects in Western Greece.
