George Papandreou subtly jabbed Tsipras about ‘Hollandrew’

Alexis Tsipras attempted to bypass Papandreou's jab by raising his thumb and smiling

Newsroom June 18 10:19

During the anti-memoranda years of SYRIZA, George Papandreou recalled the attacks made by Alexis Tsipras and other SYRIZA party members against the government officials of that time, in his remarks on the first day of the Tsipras Institute conference.

Initially, Mr. Papandreou stated that “the progressive front created in France against fascism, against the rise of conservatism, I think is an example for all,” also wishing “good luck” to former President of France, François Hollande, and his new endeavor (note: he will be a candidate in the French elections).

Given the opportunity, George Papandreou then reminded, in a mix of humor and seriousness, Alexis Tsipras about the “Hollandrew” episodes with members of PASOK who were at the Athens Conservatoire, recalling the attacks by SYRIZA during the crisis years to PASOK.

As seen in the video, Alexis Tsipras attempted to bypass George Papandreou’s jab by raising his thumb and smiling in agreement with what he heard.
