In a legendary career spanning seven decades, Mimis Plessas (born on October 12, 1924), a multifaceted composer, virtuoso pianist, and conductor, has composed melodies and songs that left a lasting impact. His work includes music for cinema and theater, jazz, opera, and classical music.

Mimis Plessas has brought many great singers into the limelight (Nana Mouskouri, Jenny Vanou, Giannis Poulopoulos, Stratos Dionysiou, Rena Koumioti, among others) and has shaped the artistic and popular Greek song with his rich contributions to the discography. He is also credited with the most commercially successful Greek album ever released: “O Dromos,” with lyrics by Lefteris Papadopoulos, which has sold 4,000,000 copies since 1969.

In cinema, Plessas’ songs, from “Thalassies tis Handres” to “Vrehi Fotia sti Strata mou,” have become synonymous with the brightest moments of Greek cinema and are still sung today.
