Weather: Thunderstorms in the north Thursday and Friday, cools down from Saturday

The temperature will not change much and will remain at higher than normal levels

With a strong wind in the Aegean Sea, today’s day will roll on – at 6 to 7 Beaufort – according to ERT meteorologist Panagiotis Giannopoulos. There will be a few showers mainly in the mountains in Macedonia, while thunderstorms will be in the north Thursday and Friday

The temperature will not change much and will remain higher than normal. More heat is expected in western Greece where the beneficial effect of the north wind does not reach there and the temperature will be 38 degrees.

Thursday and Friday, in addition to the strong Aegean Sea, thunderstorms are expected mainly in Macedonia, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours. In fact, it is not excluded that they will be locally strong. The temperature will drop slightly.

Saturday the coolest day of the next 10 days with locally gusty winds in the Aegean Sea , and 8 Beaufort. Obviously all days and especially Saturday the risk of a fire spreading is high.

In Attica the temperature today in the center and the west of the city up to 36 degrees, in the east the maximum will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

In Thessaloniki up to 33 to 34 degrees.

Forecast for tomorrow Thursday 27-06-2024

In the northern Ionian Sea, Epirus and Macedonia, initially clear weather, while from the midday hours clouds will develop and there will be local showers or rain and in Macedonia sporadic thunderstorms, which may be locally strong. The phenomena will stop in the evening hours first in the northern Ionian and Epirus and later in Macedonia.

In the rest of the country the weather will be generally clear and only in the midday and afternoon hours will clouds develop on the mainland.

Winds will blow from the north 3 to 5, in the sea 5 to 6, and in the southeastern Aegean 6 to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly, mainly in the north and will reach 33 to 34 degrees Celsius in the west and north, 35 to 36 and 37 degrees Celsius in the central continent and 31 to 33 degrees Celsius in the island country, except in southern Crete, where it will reach 36 degrees Celsius locally.

Forecast for Friday 28-06-2024

In Macedonia, increasing clouds with local rain and occasional thunderstorms, possibly strong in places, mainly in the midday and afternoon hours.

In the rest of the regions, generally clear weather and in the midday – afternoon hours clouds will develop on the mainland where there will be local rain or isolated thunderstorms mainly in the mountains. In the evening hours the phenomena will stop first in Macedonia and later in the rest of the regions.

Winds will blow north-northwest, in the Ionian Sea 5 to 6 and occasionally until the afternoon 6 to 7 Beaufort. In the Aegean Sea the winds will blow from the north 6 to 7 Beaufort with gradual strengthening from the evening hours.

The temperature will drop slightly further throughout the country.
