Throughout her career, she has collaborated with numerous musical greats such as Gladys Knight, Elton John, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder. A significant milestone was her collaboration with composer Burt Bacharach and lyricist Hal David, beginning in 1962, which produced numerous hits. Together, they launched 30 singles to the top of the charts, including “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” and “You’ll Never Get to Heaven (If You Break My Heart).”
