Trump’s manifesto at the republican convention – “I will finish the wall in Mexico, save our nation”

He predicted an "incredible victory" in the November 5th elections, promising "the most beautiful four years in history." Referring to the recent assassination attempt on him, he said: "I shouldn't be here."

Donald Trump officially accepted the Republican Party’s nomination during his speech at their convention in Milwaukee on Thursday night (local time; early Friday morning Greek time).

“With faith and dedication, I proudly accept your nomination,” he said to the delegates in Wisconsin (northern USA). He predicted an “incredible victory” in the November 5th elections, promising “the four most beautiful years in history” if he returns to the White House. Trump aimed to present himself as a unifying figure, just days after an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, stating, “I am running to be the president of all America, not half of it.”

Trump addressed every citizen, regardless of age, gender, political affiliation, or race, extending a hand of faith and friendship. He promised his administration would “restore peace and harmony,” but emphasized that to achieve this future, the nation must first be saved from “failed leadership.”

During his convention speech, Trump called for a moment of silence to honor a firefighter who died during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on Saturday. “Despite this heinous attack, we are more united and determined than ever,” Trump declared, beginning his speech with, “I shouldn’t be here today.”

Trump detailed the assassination attempt, describing how he realized they were under attack as soon as he heard gunfire. This was his first public speech since the attempt, still wearing a bandage on his right ear. “Blood was flowing everywhere. Yet, somehow, I felt safe because I had God with me,” he added.

Promising to “close the borders” from the first day of a possible second term, Trump pledged to end illegal immigration by completing the construction of the anti-immigration wall on the Mexican border.

“I will end the crisis of illegal immigration by closing our borders and finishing the wall,” he assured, reiterating his ambitious plans that faced numerous obstacles during his first term.

Furthermore, he promised to “save” the country from the “incompetent and failed” administration of his Democratic successor, Joe Biden, repeating his theory that America is a “nation in decline.”

Trump committed to promoting the exploration and exploitation of oil reserves, effectively reversing measures aimed at preventing climate change implemented by the Biden administration. He vowed to redirect all funds allocated to what he termed the “green fraud.”

Additionally, Trump urged against “demonizing” opposition and political disagreement, referring to the criminal prosecutions against him. A few days after the assassination attempt, Trump demanded that Democrats “immediately” stop labeling him as an “enemy of democracy” and a “threat” to the political system, while accusing the opposing party of “destroying our country.”
