“This assassination aims to undermine the resistance of Gaza and the just struggle of the Palestinians,” Erdoğan in his announcement, recalling similar attacks against other Palestinian leaders, such as Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz al-Rantisi, co-founders of Hamas.

“Türkiye we will continue to make every possible effort to support our Palestinian brothers with all our means and all our strength. We will continue to work towards the establishment of a free, sovereign, and independent state of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
