With north winds reaching 7 Beaufort and rising temperatures that in some areas will reach 38 degrees Celsius, August is kicking off. In fact, according to the director of EMY Thodoris Kolydas, on Friday and Saturday the mercury will rise further, reaching 40 degrees locally on the mainland with a slight drop from Sunday.

In the same vein, Giannis Kallianos is forecasting high temperatures in the coming days. The temperature will rise mainly in the coming weekend. Temperatures will not be extreme and apparently will not receive a heat wave until Sunday, the meteorologist says, noting that over the weekend, temperatures approaching heatwave levels will occur locally only in specific parts of the country (Central Macedonia, Thessaly, Central/Eastern Sterea, Eastern Peloponnese).

According to Kallianos, in Attica, during the coming weekend, it does not seem that the mercury will easily exceed 38°C. So, yes, it will be hot in the prefecture, but nothing special for the season.
