Delphine Arnault, President and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, has just confirmed the arrival of Benedetta Petruzzo

She is the former CEO of Miu Miu

Newsroom September 3 01:17

“I am convinced that Benedetta’s talent and experience will be a significant asset in the continued growth of Dior’s activities and its international influence,” Arnault said. “Her expertise in the luxury market will further strengthen the desire and success of Dior. Together, with the excellence of the existing teams, we will continue to build the future and strengthen our organization.”

Petruzzo was appointed to Miu Miu in February 2020, just weeks before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, Miu Miu experienced significant growth, with retail sales increasing by 93% in the first half of 2024, surpassing Prada’s 6% growth in the same period.

LVMH’s strength is of utmost importance at this moment due to its commitment to promoting from within. With so many brands in the LVMH portfolio, there is considerable fluidity in executive opportunities for talented individuals.

WWD reports that 70% of key positions are filled internally. Years ago, Delphine Arnault pledged to dramatically improve the promotion of women within LVMH, and she succeeded. According to the same WWD article, women have received approximately half of the key promotions in recent years.

Petruzzo is not the first high-level executive to join the organization without the CEO title. In late spring, Montblanc’s CEO, Nicolas Baretzki, joined Dior as its new deputy CEO, responsible for commercial activities.

Petruzzo is set to succeed Dior’s current CEO, Charles Delapalme, who will “take on significant new responsibilities within the LVMH Group” after a transitional period. These plans will be announced at a later date.
