Queen’s Brian May: “I Suffered a Stroke a Few Days Ago, But I Don’t Want Pity”

The good news is that I can still play guitar, he added

Newsroom September 4 11:30

Brian May, guitarist of Queen, shared a personal issue in a video he posted on his YouTube channel. The 77-year-old revealed that he suffered a stroke a few days ago, which has left him unable to control one of his hands.

However, he stated that despite this “small health issue,” he can still play the guitar.

More specifically, he said: “I’m here to bring you some good news – the good news is that I can still play guitar after what happened in the past few days. I say this because there was some doubt due to the small health problem that I mentioned, which occurred about a week ago and was described as a minor stroke. After that, I have no control over one of my hands.”

Joking about the incident, the legendary band’s guitarist described how he had a “very exciting” ambulance ride to Frimley Hospital in Surrey, UK.

Finally, he emphasized: “I didn’t want to say anything at the time because I didn’t want to make a fuss, you know. I really don’t want pity.”
