Russia Includes Greece and Cyprus on List of Countries with “Destructive Behaviors”

The Russian government categorizes nations opposing its spiritual and moral values, comprising nearly all EU countries except Hungary and Slovakia, and NATO members excluding Türkiye

Newsroom September 21 02:53

The Russian government has published a list of countries deemed to exhibit “destructive behaviors contrary to Russian spiritual and moral values,” which includes Greece and Cyprus. This decision was made under the directive of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

This list reiterates the roster of “unfriendly” nations towards Russia, as established following the imposition of mutual sanctions. Besides Greece and Cyprus, it encompasses almost all EU countries, except Hungary and Slovakia, as well as NATO members, excluding Turkey.

In total, the list comprises 47 countries and territories, including the USA, the UK, and all nations within the so-called “Western coalition,” which includes Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan.

According to the Russian state news agency TASS, citing sources, this list follows a decree from Vladimir Putin. Under this decree, Moscow will provide humanitarian support and facilitate the relocation and settlement of citizens from these countries who “share traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.”

The president’s decree outlines a streamlined process for those who “do not accept the destructive neoliberal behaviors in their countries, which contradict traditional values,” allowing them to relocate to Russia. According to Russian diplomatic sources, the number of Western citizens utilizing this process is “already several dozen.”
