The names that bad weather systems will have by September 2025, Thodoros Kolydas revealed.

Through a post he made on X (formerly Twitter), the EMY director spoke of cooperation between Greece, Cyprus and Israel even on names for severe weather events.

“The list of names chosen and to be used in alphabetical order was compiled jointly between the three meteorological services of Greece, Cyprus and Israel, reflecting the linguistic idiom of their countries in Latin characters,” he wrote, among other things.

For the period October 2024-September 2025, the list of names selected and to be used in alphabetical order, was compiled jointly between the three Meteorological Services, Greece, Cyprus and Israel, reflecting the linguistic idiom of their countries in Latin characters and is: Alexandros, Bora, Coral, Daphne, Ermis, Frida, Gerasimos, Hemera, Ido, Julia, Kiniras, Lea, Marinos, Nestor, Ofek, Pelagia, Qesem, Roni, Solon, Tria, Uri, Valeria, Yam, Zoe”.
