Tempe Tragedy: Karystianou Apologizes to Nikos and Dimitris Plakias in Heartfelt Letter

The ongoing saga continues as the Tempi Victims Association organizes a concert at the Kallimarmaro, keeping the memory of the tragedy alive and advocating for justice.

Newsroom October 2 05:50

A letter of apology to Nikos and Dmitri Plakias, the parents of twins Thomi and Christina, and their cousin, Anastasia, who were killed in the Tempi accident last February, sent by Maria Karystianou, president of the Victims’ Association of Tempe and mother of 20-year-old Marthi, who also died in the fatal train collision.

The occasion was the reactions caused by the families of the victims by the organization of a concert by the Association at the Kallimarmaro with a ticket of 15 euros.

Nikos Plakias was one of the first to make his reaction to the event public, saying that his children’s names would not become 15 euro tickets, leading many relatives to rally to his side. In addition, in a statement to Mega, he stressed that the families of the victims can’t learn what is done in the name of their children from a site, adding that“we had said that we would accept everything from Mrs. Karystianou, but money is the red line”. According to him, the legal fees have been paid.

In light of the above, Maria Karystianou sent a letter to both him and his brother, Dimitris, and Nikos, in which she says, among other things, that “from the first moment you appeared on the scene, you and the small group that seems to identify with your views to this day, you have caused division, doubts about everyone’s real intentions and the tendency to water down collective action, in a way that leads to the conclusion that you either do not want or cannot understand and serve the goals we have set by creating the Tempe Victims Association, whose statutes I think you have not even bothered to read”.

“Thank you @mkaristianou. The Mana of Tempe has sent out a letter of apology to the family who lost three children. Shame. How will you encounter Sofia and Martha in court? How will you face them?” was Mr. Plakias‘s response to Ms. Karistianou.
