Mitsotakis met with Republican Senators in Chania – Dendias present

During the meeting, the excellent level of Greek-American relations and Greek-American defence cooperation was discussed

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a working breakfast at his home in Chania with a group of Republican Party senators who serve on the United States Senate’s Resource Allocation, Intelligence and Energy Committees, among others.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of Defense Nikos Dendias, while the US side was represented by Senators Jerry Moran, Susan Collins, John Boozman, John Cornyn, John Hoeven and the US Ambassador in Athens, George Tsunis.

During the meeting, they discussed the excellent level of Greek-American relations and Greek-American defense cooperation, as well as Greece’s role as a pillar of stability and security in the wider region.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis placed particular emphasis on the initiatives undertaken by Greece and its role in the development of the Vertical Energy Corridor and the energy security of Europe.

Views were also expressed on international and regional issues, with emphasis on the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
