Greek citizenship granted to Baldock’s son – The footballer applied 25 days before his death

Yesterday, Tuesday, the Government Gazette was published, officially granting Greek citizenship to Brody Baldock.

As it turns out, George Baldock had applied for Greek citizenship for his one-year-old son on September 16, just 25 days before his death.

Specifically, the Government Gazette states:

“By decision No. F.125119/2024/0009470/ 21-10-2024 of the Head of the Citizenship Department of Athens, Ministry of Interior, issued in accordance with paragraph 4 of article 26 of the Greek Nationality Code (Law 3284/2004, A’ 217), the application dated 16-09-2024 by the father of the minor with details: (surname) BALDOCK, (name) BRODY GEORGE, (father’s name) GEORGE HENRY IVOR, born in the UNITED KINGDOM on 09-10-2023, for the acquisition of Greek citizenship is accepted based on article 2 of Law 3284/2004.”

The funeral of George Baldock will take place in England on October 30.
