Famellos’ visit to Arkalochori: Three years after the earthquake not a single building permit for reconstruction has been paid

The schools are still in a situation that not only have not been replaced, but have not even been demolished, the SYRIZA presidential candidate stressed

Newsroom October 25 05:00

A visit to earthquake-stricken Arkalochori was made by SYRIZA-PS presidential candidate, Socrates Famellos. The visit was preceded by a meeting with representatives of the “Elpida” association of earthquake victims, where the government’s indifference to these people was denounced.

“Three years and one month after the earthquake in Arkalochori. Apart from the fact that not a single building permit for reconstruction has been paid for the citizens, from at least 4,000 citizens who have been displaced and others who are renting here, the schools are still in a state that, not only have they not been replaced, but they have not even been demolished,” the SYRIZA-PS presidential candidate stressed.

“The public infrastructure has not progressed either. And this is the excellence of Mr Mitsotakis, here in Arkalochori,” Famelos said, concluding that “he should come and be evaluated, along with Mr Triandopoulos. Three years and one month after the earthquake.”
