MRB poll: ND in European elections, Mitsotakis dominant, Androulakis the leader of the opposition

SYRIZA fifth party, double-digit percentage for Velopoulos

Newsroom October 25 08:57

Nikos Androulakis emerges as the leader of the opposition, while New Democracy (ND) remains dominant despite minor losses: these are the two main findings from the MRB poll presented on Thursday evening.

With overall projections, ND stands at its European Parliament election rate of 28.1%, PASOK takes second place with 18.2%, and the gap is just narrowly within single digits, at 9.9 points. SYRIZA has lost 1.1 points in less than a month and, in this survey, ranks fifth with 8.3%, trailing Velopoulos’ party at 11% and the KKE at 9.7%.

Plefsi Eleftherias records new gains and holds sixth place, only 3 points behind SYRIZA. Foni Logikis also shows significant growth at 4.7%, with MeRA25 at 3.9% and Nea Aristera in sharp decline, down to 1.6% from 2.5% in the previous survey by the same company.

When asked, “Who do you consider the leader of the opposition?” Nikos Androulakis leads by a considerable margin, with 26% overall and 14.2% in the undecided vote — although his suitability as prime minister stands lower, at 9.2%.

The poll once again captures the disapproval among SYRIZA voters regarding Kasselakis’ disqualification, with a striking 75% disagreement. In a scenario where he is ultimately not a candidate, the poll indicates Pavlos Polakis as the frontrunner in the first round, appearing to win the support of many Stefanos Kasselakis supporters.
