Olympiacos 15-11 Sabadell: secures spot in LEN Champions League quarterfinals

Fountoulis leads as top scorer – Showdown with Savona for group lead

Olympiacos defeated Sabadell 15-11 at the Papastrateio swimming pool, securing their qualification to the quarterfinals of the LEN Champions League in men’s water polo. This victory, achieved during the 5th round of the group stage, confirmed the dominance of the “Reds,” who will now face Savona in Italy to compete for the top spot in their group.

Olympiacos started strongly, maintaining a one-goal lead for most of the first half. By the end of the second period, the team managed to extend their lead to two goals (8-6).

In the third period, Olympiacos stepped up their game, extending the lead to five goals (12-7 by Fountoulis and 13-8 by Dimou), effectively securing the win as the Spanish side could not mount a comeback.

With this victory, Olympiacos “sealed” their place in the quarterfinals and now shifts their focus to the final group stage match against Savona in Italy, where they will fight for the group lead.
