A court in Ireland has found Conor McGregor guilty of rape and ordered to pay $248,000 in damages.

Nikita Hunts sued the UFC champion for rape and battery she suffered in December 2018 in a Dublin hotel, seeking damages.

The court, after six hours and 10 minutes of deliberation among the jury, announced that McGregor will pay damages of $248,000.

The athlete has testified in court that he did not rape Hunts, claiming they had consensual sexual intercourse at the Beacon Hotel. He also denied that he hit the plaintiff.

Hearing the court’s verdict, Connor McGregor shook his head affirmatively and Nikita Hants cried, according to the Daily Mail.

Nikita also accused James Lawrence, Connor McGregor’s boyfriend, of abuse, but the court found him not guilty.
