The Parliamentary Ethics Committee recommends the lifting of Konstantopoulou’s immunity

The case against the president of the Eleftherias Pλεύisi Eleftherias concerns an incident during a recent trial that was heard in the Volos Single Member Plenary Court

Newsroom November 29 03:00

The Ethics Committee of the Parliament has decided by a large majority to recommend to the plenary that the parliamentary immunity of Zoe Konstantopoulou be lifted.

The case against the president of the party concerns an incident during a recent trial that was heard at the Volos Single-Member Plenary Court.

Ms Konstantopoulou is accused of repeatedly disrupting court sessions and undue influence on judicial officials.

According to reports, the acts attributed to her include calling the police from her mobile phone in the middle of a session, to intervene in the ELAS against the presiding judge and the prosecutor. She also allegedly removed a microphone from the bench and interfered with the computer used by the court during the trial.
