One of the daughters of the parliamentary police officer had described the abuse she was experiencing in an essay

“It should be investigated if someone intervened at the school pretending to be from a police service,” said Giorgos Kalliakmanis to protothema.gr

Newsroom December 4 10:51

A new piece of information regarding the case of the police officer who served in the Greek Parliament and was arrested for the rape of his children came to light on Wednesday. According to reports, one of his daughters had described the abuse she was enduring in a school essay two years ago.

As stated to protothema.gr by Giorgos Kalliakmanis, the honorary president of the police officers’ union of Southeastern Attica, there is information that one of the girls had described some incidents in a school essay that hinted at abuse.

“It seems, according to the same information, that the teacher and principal of the school called the mother, who tried to justify what the child had described as childish fabrications. Perhaps it should be investigated if someone intervened at the school pretending to be from a police service. These pieces of information should be looked into by the relevant authorities,” Mr. Kalliakmanis added.

Earlier, speaking on MEGA, he said about the intervention: “It is said that a police officer from the Mesogeia area called — the family lived in Nea Smyrni, so what would the Mesogeia have to do with Nea Smyrni — and told them not to deal with this case, that the Police would handle it. He called the school principal. Who tells me that it wasn’t the police officer himself who called? If I’m not mistaken, the police officer’s family lives in the Mesogeia area.”

Investigation into the psychologists of the Greek Police who examined the 45-year-old

At the same time, an internal investigation by the medical services of the Hellenic Police is underway, led by the Police Headquarters, to determine the circumstances under which the 45-year-old police officer from the Parliament, who was temporarily detained on Tuesday, and his accusing wife underwent procedures.

According to reports, the headquarters has essentially requested a detailed report from the medical services regarding the history of these two individuals and the results of the weapon suitability committees. The main question is how it was not noticed for so many years that this man was dealing with psychological problems.

The 45-year-old gave his testimony from the Military Hospital, where he remains under guard after claiming psychological issues. The investigating judge and the responsible prosecutor visited him there in the morning.

In a statement, his lawyer, Othonas Papadopoulos, said: “This case has a long way to go. We will take immediate action to prove the truth. Our first request is a psychiatric examination of the accuser.”

The accused denies the crime. It is puzzling how a person who works in the Greek police and has served in the MAT (Special Forces) could allegedly confess to committing certain acts under the fear of someone else. It is also puzzling how it is possible for young children to live in a home environment as described without confessing anything to a friend, teacher, or professor. This case has a long way to go, and we are determined to pursue it.”
