An Australian student who had been missing for two weeks near the highest mountain in Australia was found today by a group of hikers. He survived by eating blackberries, two bars left behind by other hikers in a hut, and drinking water from a stream.

#BREAKING: A 23-year-old medical student who went missing in NSW's Kosciuszko National Park on Boxing Day has been found alive after nearly two weeks.

Hadi Nazari was last seen on the Hannels Spur Trail near Geehi, after stopping to take photos.

Hadi Nazari, a 23-year-old student from Melbourne, became separated from his group of friends on December 26 in the Kosciuszko National Park. He was located by a group of hikers who alerted the authorities.

“It’s the fourteenth day we’ve been searching for him, and for him to show up in such good spirits and in such good condition, it’s unbelievable,” said a police spokesperson.

More than 300 people had been searching for Hadi Nazari in the Kosciuszko National Park, where the mountain of the same name rises to a height of 2,228 meters.
