Dressed in a dark pinstripe suit and tie, Beckham attended the prestigious event where his contributions to improving children’s lives were celebrated. For 20 years, Beckham has served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, using his platform to advocate for the rights of vulnerable children worldwide.

The Crystal Award, presented by the World Economic Forum (WEF), recognizes artists and public figures who use their creativity to promote social causes, including sustainability, equality, and human dignity.

Focus on Girls’ Rights

In his speech, Beckham highlighted the challenges faced by girls due to poverty, violence, and discrimination. “Girls need opportunities, collective action, and investment,” he emphasized, adding that he envisions a future of equal opportunities for his 13-year-old daughter, Harper, comparable to those available to his sons.

Hilde Schwab, President of the Forum, praised Beckham’s efforts, describing him as a leader who has shown “exceptional leadership and humanity” in protecting the rights of the most vulnerable children.

Celebrating Two Decades with UNICEF

In an Instagram post, Beckham marked 20 years of partnership with UNICEF and a decade of work through his personal charity, 7 Fund. “It’s an incredible honor to receive the Crystal Award. There is still so much work to be done, but every child deserves to dream and have the opportunities to fulfill their dreams,” he wrote.
