Over 500 new jobs created in Thessaly

A total of 522 unemployed have already been hired in new jobs through the new Public Employment Service program to subsidize employment in Thessaly, which started on 30 January 2025, while applications from businesses continue at a very fast pace.

In addition, 720 unemployed people have applied for funding to start their own business and the program is expected to “close” soon, as a total of 1,000 new businesses will be funded.

As stated in a relevant announcement, recently, three new targeted employment actions of the DYPA, with a total budget of 109 million euros, have been launched, involving 6,500 unemployed people in the Region of Thessaly:

– Program for the creation of 5,000 new full-time jobs. The program is addressed to unemployed people of all ages and to all enterprises operating in the Region of Thessaly. The grant covers up to 75% of the employee’s salary and contributions (up to €1,250 per month) for a period of up to 18 months. The budget of the action amounts to €90 million.

– Program for the creation of 1,000 new enterprises. The aim of the program is the creation of new businesses by 1,000 unemployed people of all ages, with a total subsidy of €14,800 per business for 12 months. The budget of the action amounts to €14.8 million.
