Land plot cleaning: Mandatory from April 1st – procedures and fines

Property owners must declare the cleaning of their plots on the special gov.gr platform – A €1,000 fine for failure to declare and up to €54,000 in fines and imprisonment for false declarations

From Tuesday, April 1st, property owners are required to clean their land plots and subsequently submit a declaration via the designated gov.gr platform.

Failure to comply will result in penalties. Specifically:

  • Not submitting a cleaning declaration to the National Registry will incur a €1,000 fine for the property owner.
  • False declarations regarding compliance may result in up to 2 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to €54,000.

If a landowner fails to clean their plot, the municipal authorities will intervene and carry out the cleaning at the owner’s expense.
