Vezenkov: In the fourth game, we need to take what we’ve worked for the entire season”

Olympiacos forward commented on the team's poor performance in the first quarter against Real Madrid and emphasized that Piraeus players must start stronger in Game 4

Newsroom April 30 04:40

Olympiacos did not succeed in Game 3 against Real Madrid, suffering a defeat to the “King” with 80-72. The Madrid team reduced the series to 2-1, and Sasha Vezenkov referred to Olympiacos’ poor performance in the first quarter, where Real scored 28 points.

“Real played more aggressively, put their bodies on the line, and we lacked spacing. Defensively, we didn’t start as we should have — allowing 28 points in the first quarter is unacceptable. We reacted in the second quarter, but that wasn’t enough. We made some mistakes, missed some shots, and we need to start stronger in the next game.

In the third game, we have to start even more aggressively and without pressure because the pressure is on the opponent. But we didn’t do that.

Real Madrid won fairly, and we need to come into the fourth game to take what we deserve all season. In the next match, we must be tough, have 100% defensive tactics, and stick to our plan offensively.”
