The agreement was signed by Development Minister Takis Theodoricako and his Italian counterpart, Antholfo Urso, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of common strategic interest, such as industrial policy, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and innovation.

In his remarks, Theodoricakos said that “today’s agreement takes on particular importance in view of the successive assumption of the EU Presidency by Greece in the second half of 2027 and by Italy in the first half of 2028. And it comes to lay the institutional foundations of an already dynamic and productive cooperation between the business and industrial communities of the two countries.”

The Minister of Development also underlined that “we are facing a period when critical European policy issues require coordinated initiatives. Particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, it is crucial to highlight their role in the European dialogue, promoting an integrated approach that strengthens cohesion and mobilises local production in all EU regions.”
