The 2-year-old star of TikTok Preston Ordone, who went viral on the platform and was more commonly known as “Okay Baby” died in a car crash in Louisiana, USA on April 24.

According to the official cause of death, 2-year-old Preston died of “blunt force trauma due to a car accident,” PEOPLE magazine confirmed.

Preston, the son of Caitlin and Jalen Ordone, was in a 2011 Ford F-150, which, according to the police press release, “veered off the road to the right and struck a tree.” The circumstances under which the crash occurred are still under investigation.

The fatal car crash that claimed Preston’s life

The press release also said the driver and passenger, who were “properly wearing their seat belts, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital.”

However, police say Preston was sitting in the back seats of the car, but “was not properly restrained in the child safety seat.” He was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately “later succumbed to his injuries”.

On Sunday, April 27, two people who were asked by the 2-year-old boy’s family to post video about the crash on Caitlin Ordone’s account, “their vehicle went off the highway to the right and hit a tree and unfortunately Preston didn’t make it,” one woman said.

Fortunately, the couple’s oldest daughter, Paisley, was not in the car.

“Caitlin and Jalen have been seriously injured. Caitlin has multiple fractures. She has a very severe concussion. Today she walked for the first time. Jalen had to undergo emergency surgery on one of his legs… They are both in different hospitals,” the video said of the 2-year-old boy’s parents.

He liked to say the word “okay” to his mother, Caitlin, before doing the opposite of what she asked him to do. His videos garnered millions of views and likes.

“Your love means a lot in a moment like this,” Caitlin said in a video shared on Tuesday, April 29.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up on the family’s behalf has raised more than $30,000 of its $50,000 goal.
