Mitsotakis after the intervention at the Legal School’s snack bar: “Pathetic images, the space should have the image it deserves” – Message to the Rector

"Now, Mr. Rector, it’s your turn to do your part, to restore the space to the image it deserves," the Prime Minister emphasizes in a TikTok post

Newsroom May 15 05:59

Regarding yesterday’s police operation at another occupied space within EKPA, Kyriakos Mitsotakis spoke in a post on TikTok.

The Prime Minister described the images seen by everyone from the so-called “self-managed snack bar of the Law School” as “pathetic” and called on the Rector to take the necessary actions for “the space to regain its proper image and operate either as a regular snack bar or as a shared space for all students.”

“Yesterday, within the framework of two more interventions carried out inside universities, the police evacuated the occupation at the so-called ‘self-managed snack bar’ of the Law School. The images the police officers encountered, as well as those we all saw, are pathetic. They do not reflect the standards of a university in a European country. We will continue to do our job by restoring university spaces that have been occupied for decades, as we did yesterday at the Law School. Now, Mr. Rector, it’s your turn to do your part. To restore the space to the image it deserves and to operate it either as a regular snack bar or as a shared space for all students. And in this effort, if you need help, we will be by your side,” said Mr. Mitsotakis.
