Awkward moment with Lauren Sánchez’s kiss to Leonardo DiCaprio in front of Jeff Bezos, following their viral flirtation in 2021 – See video

The event brought back memories of a viral video when Sánchez was accused by internet users of openly flirting with DiCaprio in front of her partner

Newsroom May 26 01:08

Another awkward moment occurred between Leonardo DiCaprio and Lauren Sánchez, partner of Jeff Bezos, when she kissed him on the cheek during the amfAR charity gala on Thursday, May 22, in France. The 50-year-old Oscar-winning actor participated in the event just before the closing ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, sitting at the same table as Bezos and Sánchez. The moment DiCaprio passed by their table reminded viewers of a viral video from 2021, when Sánchez was accused online of clearly flirting with DiCaprio at a social event, in front of her partner.

In this new incident, the actor approached the table accompanied by his partner, Vitória Ceretti, greeting each attendee. When he reached Jeff Bezos and his partner, he bent down and put his head between them, holding them lightly by the shoulders — a gesture that seemed more like a friendly greeting or an invitation for a hug rather than an attempt at a kiss. However, Lauren Sánchez took the opportunity and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek, smiling. Bezos appeared momentarily surprised to see the actor so close but soon smiled as DiCaprio had already moved away to continue greeting others.

This scene immediately recalled the notorious 2021 video from the Art+Film Gala at the Los Angeles Museum of Art (LACMA), where Sánchez appeared to stare intently at DiCaprio as he conversed with the couple. The video went viral on social media, with many users commenting on Sánchez’s apparent intense focus on the actor.

The extent of the fuss then led Jeff Bezos to respond humorously, posting a video in which he called DiCaprio to follow him to the edge of a cliff, jokingly implying he would push him. Although the incident was apparently handled with humor, some commentators expressed concern that DiCaprio might have been “blacklisted” by the Amazon founder.
