Panathinaikos: The reason why Ataman left Lesor out of the finals against Olympiacos

The Turkish coach has decided not to count on Lesor’s assistance in these critical matchups against Olympiacos

Newsroom May 30 11:23

Matias Lesor did everything possible to be ready for the most decisive games of the season for Panathinaikos. However, despite his presence in Abu Dhabi, the French center has been left out of the foreign seven-man roster for the Stoiximan Greek Basket League finals.

This means that Ergin Ataman cannot rely on Lesor’s help in these tough encounters against Olympiacos, which will determine the season’s final title.

The reason Lesor won’t be part of Panathinaikos’ roster in the domestic championship finals is that he is still not 100% ready to compete in such an intense series.

Although he participated in the EuroLeague Final Four, Lesor doesn’t feel prepared to handle high-intensity games every 48 hours. This was clearly evident during the last two Panathinaikos training sessions.
