A major operation by the Fire Service is underway in Rhodes to safely shield workers and visitors in the wider Ixia area, as there has been a gas leak from an outdoor tank of a large hotel complex.

The competent authorities, who were immediately mobilized, closed the road to and from the hotel complex (on Herakleidon Avenue) in order to safely empty the tank, while removing passers-by and visitors within a large radius.
