Aegean Airlines: New aircrafts and, the impact of geopolitical developments

Aegean is moving positively with an increase of up to 7% in seats offered and fleet reinforcement with new aircraft, despite flight cancellations due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East

Newsroom June 26 01:38

With a positive sign in demand and an increase in seats offered of 5% to 7%, depending on how developments in the geopolitical field in the Middle East shape up, Aegean is so far moving forward. At the same time, as part of its major fleet renewal program, by the end of the year, the largest domestic airline expects to take delivery of three new aircraft, having already taken delivery of three more in 2025.

Specifically in terms of demand, the trend so far appears satisfactory since the beginning of the year, which comes in line with the positive trend of arrivals for Greek tourism. Due to the strong seasonality of the sector’s activity, the third quarter of the year, July-September, is crucial, which will largely affect the economic performance for the whole year.
