Newsroom June 28 08:31

This mark sets a new championship record, surpassing his own previous record of 8.38m from 2021. It is also the 8th best jump of his career. Notably, Tentoglou took off 14 centimeters behind the board during this second attempt, making the jump even more impressive.

His personal best is 8.65 meters, achieved at the 2024 European Championships in Rome. The Greek national record, however, remains at 8.66 meters, held by Louis Tsatoumas since 2007.

Tentoglou’s series of jumps:

  • 1st attempt: 8.15m
  • 2nd attempt: 8.46m (world-leading performance)
  • 3rd attempt: Invalid
  • 4th attempt: 8.44m

He is currently leading the competition, with his main rival being Italian jumper Mattia Furlani, who has jumped 8.07m.
