AADE seals three gas stations in Attica for two years – Tampering detected in fuel pumps and inflow-outflow software

Fines of up to €150,000 per station are pending

Newsroom July 12 04:34

Three fuel stations in Attica have been sealed for two years by customs inspectors of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) after evidence of tampering was found in both the fuel pumps and the inflow-outflow monitoring software.

Specifically, over the past two days, teams of AADE Customs Inspectors, in cooperation with the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and the Criminal Investigations Division, carried out targeted inspections at five fuel stations.

As a result of the joint operation, three gas stations — located in Paiania, Acharnes, and Agios Ioannis Rentis — were sealed for a period of two years. The process of imposing the prescribed fines, which may reach €150,000 per station, is currently underway. The names and details of the violators will be made public at a later stage.

The AADE is also expected to issue special orders for:

  • The cessation of fuel supply to the sealed stations
  • The removal of signage and equipment
  • Notification of the relevant authorities regarding potential revocation of operating licenses

At the other two stations, located in Athens and Peristeri, additional information has been requested, as serious discrepancies were found between the amounts of fuel leaving the tanks and those recorded at the pumps.
