Improved picture in Thesprotia and Kilkis

Throughout the night, the image of fire fronts in Thessprotia and Kilkis showed significant improvement. No active fronts are now detected, only limited reignitions, which are controlled by the fire brigade forces. The contribution of air assets was decisive in extinguishing the fire in Mandrotopos Thesprotia, where a house was unfortunately set ablaze. Fortunately, no human lives were endangered.

The largest front is located in Kastoria, in the area between Agia Marina and Flatsata. The fire is still burning pine forest in an extremely difficult spot, hampering the work of the ground forces. On Friday, four aircraft and a helicopter operated with water drops, which stopped after sunset.

Residents remain on alert after a warning message was sent by “112”on Friday afternoon.

Euretania: The site of the fire in Domnista

In Evritania, the fire that broke out late Friday afternoon in Domnista remains active, but does not threaten a settlement. 45 firefighters with two teams of hikers of the 4th EMODE and 12 vehicles are operating on the front. By sundown, water drops were being made by two aircraft and a helicopter, although limited due to the late hour.
