Trump denies his involvement in the Epstein case: ‘If they had something on me, they would have come out with it already’

The US president stressed that he had not gone to the notorious private island of Epstein, even specifying that he had refused an invitation

Newsroom July 28 11:02

Donald Trump was asked to respond about the infamous “Epstein files” during a press conference with British Prime Minister, Kir Starmer.

Asked by a reporter whether the attorney general is required to inform him if his name appears in the disputed documents, Trump was unequivocal: he described his involvement in the case as a “hoax” and an argument that has been “stretched beyond all reason.”

“It’s a farce, blown out of all proportion,” he said, attributing the handling of the case to people he called “the worst dregs of the earth.” Among those he blamed by name was former President Joe Biden.

The Trump administration is preparing to release hundreds of thousands of documents in the Epstein case

Trump attempted to distance himself from Epstein entirely, claiming he had severed all contact with him years ago. “For years I didn’t talk to him,” he said, explaining that the reason was Epstein’s inappropriate behavior. “He had hired staff to work for me, and I told him not to do it again. He repeated it, and I kicked him out of the premises. I kicked him out, and that was it,” he said.

The US president went on to deny any involvement with Epstein’s activities on his infamous private island. “I did not go to the island,” he said, even clarifying that he had declined an invitation to do so. “Many people in Palm Beach were invited. In one of my good moments, I turned it down. I didn’t want to go.”

Finally, he insisted that if there was anything incriminating about him, it would have been made public at the time he was running for president. “If they had something on me, they would have already put it out when I was running for president,” he said, trying to dispel any suggestion of his involvement.
